Child exploitation is a global concern that manifests in many different forms. Children—often from impoverished communities—are forced or trafficked into prostitution, child marriages, or armed forces. No child is truly safe as the danger exists on the digital world, too, with rampant online child sexual exploitation nowadays. In the context of Asia, the rapidly growing economy further enables this practice to develop into a lucrative business.
In this video, Green Network Asia sat with Bushra Zulfiqar, Terre des Hommes Netherlands Regional Director for Asia, to talk about child exploitation in Asia, the importance of involving the financial sector in tackling this issue, and her organization’s approach to fighting child exploitation.
